Ivan Toney scored two late goals to earn Brentford back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time as they beat relegation rivals Burnley 2-0.
Bryan Mbeumo put an early shot wide before Christian Eriksen forced a smart save from Nick Pope.
Mbeumo went close again at the end of the first half when his volley was cleared off the line by ex-Brentford defender James Tarkowski.
Burnley had their best opportunities in the second half, with Maxwel Cornet denied by David Raya’s reaction save before substitute Jay Rodriguez’s spectacular shot struck the bar.
Toney struck with five minutes remaining, heading in Eriksen’s superb cross.
His second came from the penalty spot in stoppage time, after Nathan Collins had been sent off for denying Toney a goalscoring opportunity.
Brentford are 15th but now have 30 points, nine clear of Burnley, who remain 18th, but have played two matches fewer.
