Crystal Palace condemned Burnley to a sixth consecutive home defeat in the Premier League as goals from Jeffrey Schlupp and Tyrick Mitchell gave the Eagles a 2-0 win at Turf Moor.
How the match unfolded
Burnley dominated possession and produced 17 shots but were unable to get past goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who made five saves and kept another clean sheet.
At the other end, when Palace had their chances, they weren’t as wasteful as their opponents.
Palace took the lead in the 22nd minute when Jordan Ayew robbed Jordan Beyer down the right and crossed to the far post, where Schlupp slotted into the empty net.
And in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time, Mitchell wrapped up the victory with his third Premier League goal, set up by Eberechi Eze, who made his return from injury as a substitute.
Palace’s victory moves them up to 10th in the table on 15 points. Burnley stay 19th on four points, and are now only above bottom-placed Sheff Utd on goal difference.
