Tyreece John-Jules scored the only goal as Arsenal beat Southampton 1-0 at Borehamwood.
After putting the home side in front a minute before half-time, the forward also had a second-half penalty saved by Southampton goalkeeper Tommy Scott, but a first clean sheet of the campaign earned Arsenal the three points to stay third on 22 points.
Southampton remain bottom on seven points.
