A Milan Baros strike just before half-time earned Liverpool a point as they drew at Leeds United.
Harry Kewell opened the scoring on 21 minutes against his former side with a fine curling strike, before Erik Bakke poked in from close-range.
Leeds went ahead for the first time when Mark Viduka ran onto a Alan Smith pass before lifting the ball over Chris Kirkland.
But with four minutes until the break, Baros went past two players before finding the bottom corner.
Liverpool dropped to seventh, while Leeds remained rooted to the foot of the table.
2020: Watford 3-0 Liverpool
Two early second-half goals from Ismaila Sarr earned Watford a famous victory as they ended Liverpool's hopes of an unbeaten season.
Abdoulaye Doucoure played in Sarr to tap in his first on 54 minutes, before he netted his second six minutes later.
Troy Deeney lifted past Alisson with 18 minutes to go, as leaders Liverpool suffered a first defeat in 44 matches.
Watford moved out of the bottom three to 17th on 27 points, above AFC Bournemouth on goal difference. Liverpool remained 22 points clear at the top.
