Arsenal have announced the signing of Gabriel dos Santos Magalhaes from Lille.
The defender, known commonly as Gabriel, has agreed a long-term contract as Arsenal's fourth senior signing of the summer transfer window.
He follows Brazilian compatriot Willian, plus fellow defenders Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares from Flamengo and Southampton respectively.
"He has many qualities which will make us stronger as a defensive unit and as a team," head coach Mikel Arteta told the club's official website.
"He has proved with Lille that he is a defender with many outstanding attributes and we are looking forward to watching him grow as an Arsenal player.”

The 22-year-old moves to Emirates Stadium after three years with the French club, having began his career with Brazilian side Avai.
In 24 appearances last season he scored one goal, made more passes into the opposition half than any Ligue 1 player and ranked sixth for blocked shots.
He also featured in the UEFA Champions League, playing twice against Chelsea.
Gabriel will wear the No 6 shirt and could make his debut when Arsenal kick off the 2020/21 campaign at Fulham on 12 September.
