Seven up-and-coming talents have been nominated for December 2020's Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.
The shortlist was decided by the Premier League's Football Development Panel, after PL2 club coaches nominated the best performance by an opposing player in each of their league matches during the month.
The Panel will also choose the winner, who will follow in the footsteps of September winner Sam Greenwood, of Leeds United, and Manchester City's Cole Palmer and Liam Delap, who claimed October and November's awards respectively.
PL2 player shortlist
Faustino Anjorin (CHE)
The 19-year-old midfielder helped Chelsea beat Leicester City 2-1 before scoring twice and claiming two assists in an emphatic 6-1 win over Manchester United to leave the Blues top of PL2 Division 1 at the end of 2020. Anjorin also made his full UEFA Champions League debut in a 1-1 draw against Krasnodar.
Folarin Balogun (ARS)
Balogun struck the decisive goal in a 2-1 win over Leicester, Arsenal's only Division 1 match in December. The 19-year-old also made three senior appearances in the month, scoring once in two substitute appearances across victories over Rapid Vienna and Dundalk in the UEFA Europa League before featuring in a 4-1 EFL Cup defeat to Man City.
Lewis Bate (CHE)
England Under-18 midfielder Bate was instrumental in the Division 1 leaders' December wins against Leicester, Tottenham Hotspur and Man Utd, playing every minute of each match.
Harry Chapman (BLB)
Chapman made two Division 1 appearances last month, providing an assist in Blackburn Rovers' 3-2 defeat by Spurs before scoring twice and setting another goal up in a 5-3 success at Derby County. The 23-year-old also came off the bench in the club's 1-0 Championship defeat at Stoke City before sealing a loan move to Shrewsbury Town at the start of January.
Brad Lyons (BLB)
Midfielder Lyons, 23, enjoyed a prolific month for Blackburn, producing four goals in three Division 1 matches. He found the net twice in a 2-1 win at Liverpool and was also on target against Spurs and Derby.
Nathan Tella (SOU)
Tella's one Division 1 match in December was a memorable one, as he scored four times in Southampton's 5-2 triumph over Leicester City. The 21-year-old also came on as a substitute during the club's 1-0 Premier League defeat to Man City.
Harvey White (TOT)
The 19-year-old was Spurs' chief creator last month, providing four assists to take his Division 1 season total to six, the highest in the competition. The midfielder scored a penalty and set a goal up in the 3-2 win at Blackburn before claiming one assist in a defeat at Chelsea and two in the 4-3 success over Liverpool.
