Saturday's 1-0 win over Arsenal continued Aston Villa’s outstanding 2020/21 Fantasy Premier League campaign.
Villa have been among the most reliable defences in the Premier League, claiming 11 clean sheets in their 21 matches this season.
That total is second only to the 13 of Manchester City and is already four more than they managed in 2019/20.
Villa's GW23 highlights
In terms of value in Fantasy, goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez (£5.2m) is the best player in the entire game, returning 22.3 points per million (ppm).
However, the Argentinian is not the only Villa player to offer strong value. Indeed, a Villa player features in the top four for value in every position in FPL.
Matt Targett (£4.8m) is the second-best defender for value, producing 19.2 ppm.
The left-back has been among the most consistent sources of returns this term, delivering attacking or defensive points on 13 separate occasions.
In midfield, Villa talisman Jack Grealish (£7.8m) has been involved in 18 goals this season, scoring six and assisting 12.
That already surpasses his combined total of 15 from last season, when he scored eight goals and set up seven.
Watkins enjoying hot streak
Meanwhile, a winning goal for Ollie Watkins (£6.3m) in Gameweek 23 highlighted his worth to FPL managers.
The striker has reached 100 points in total after scoring in four of the last five Gameweeks.
His 15.9 ppm is the third-best figure among FPL forwards.
The all-round potential offered by Villa suggests their key players will be major targets for managers still holding their second Wildcard.
Dean Smith’s side still have two matches to be rescheduled, against Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, raising the prospects of more Double Gameweeks.
In defence and attack, their budget-friendly players can prove decisive in mini-leagues over the final few months of 2020/21.
