Erik Lamela's spectacular rabona for Tottenham Hotspur against Arsenal has won the 2020/21 Budweiser Goal of the Season award.

Lamela audaciously swung his left foot around his right to shoot through the legs of Thomas Partey and open the scoring in the north-London derby.

"It has a different feeling to do it in the derby," Lamela told Spurs' official website.

"These games are completely different to other ones and it’s a very, very special goal. I dream a lot about goals like that, especially in a derby, but it was in one second that I decided to shoot like that.”

The 29-year-old becomes the first Argentinian to win the award and follows in the footsteps of Spurs team-mate Son Heung-min, who earned the 2019/20 prize for his stunning solo effort against Burnley.

Lamela's strike was selected as the winner after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of experts, beating the nine other Budweiser Goal of the Month winners from 2020/21.
