Fulham have opened a new elite training centre that will not only be used by Academy players but will also serve the wider community.
Funded by the club's chairman Shahid Khan and opened by Premier League Executive Chairman Richard Scudamore, the all-weather dome at Motspur Park, in Surrey, will enable the club's community charity, Fulham Football Club Foundation to deliver a wide range of schemes, including Walking Football and Premier League Kicks.
The club's Down's Syndrome team (DS Badgers) and Ladies team will also play there.
"By generously funding the extensive project of works, the Fulham team has a first-class facility to train, our envied Academy can prosper, and the community will benefit from the excellent programmes our Foundation delivers," said Fulham chief executive Alistair Mackintosh.
The facility will also help Fulham as they work to maintain their Category One Academy status as part of the Premier League's Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), a long-term strategy which aims to develop more and better home-grown players.
"Maintaining our Category One status has an immeasurable impact on the Fulham Academy and one that is vital to our future success," Fulham Academy director Huw Jennings said.
