What you need to attend a Premier League match

Ian Wright has urged Premier League fans to play their part in the fight against COVID-19 by following the protocols that are in place at Premier League stadiums over the festive periods.

The former Arsenal striker has recorded a video message to fans planning to attend a Premier League match of the protocols in place in order to gain entry into a ground.

"It's so good to see stands full again and we all want it to remain that way with Plan B measures now in place," says Wright. "We need to keep doing everything we can to keep each other safe at football matches.

"If you are going to a Premier League match here, some simple important things you must do pre register your COVID status with your club in advance. This is easy to do via your club's website.

"Be ready to show your NHS COVID pass. Download this on your phone in advance to show you are fully vaccinated or have tested negative in the last 48 hours.

"Make sure you're ready to show this at stadium checks. Take a face covering with you and wear it when you're inside and if you travel to and from games by public transport.

"Be considerate and think of other people.

"And really importantly, please do not leave home if you're showing any COVID symptoms by doing these simple things, it will help to keep you and your fellow fans safe so we can all enjoy Premier League action."

We have also provided a simple overview of everything a fan needs to do before they attend a Premier League match.
