The centre-back has been a key performer under Eddie Howe, producing two double-figure returns in 13 appearances for the Magpies’ new head coach.
That includes his season-high haul of 12 points against Brentford last weekend.
Schar has helped Newcastle to keep three clean sheets in their last five matches.
He has also boasted a strong goal threat as he prepares to face Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton.
His six shots and five shots in the box over the last four Gameweeks both put him among the top three defenders in Fantasy.
Featuring in only 0.7 per cent of squads, Schar is among four low-owned players tipped for success in Double Gameweek 28.
Daniel Podence (WOL) £5.5m, 0.5 per cent owned
The winger has been a lively performer in recent matches for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Podence scored and earned 10 points in Wolves' Double Gameweek 26.
The Portuguese is also one of the league's top creators of late, his 11 key passes ranking fourth among all players in Fantasy over the last four Gameweeks.
Crucially, Wolves are the only side to play at home twice in DGW28, hosting Crystal Palace and Watford at Molineux.
Matty Cash (AVL) £5.1m, 5.1%
Aston Villa's right-back faces Southampton and Leeds United on the back of a consistent run of form in Fantasy.
Cash has blanked just once in his last five appearances, totalling 29 points thanks to a goal, an assist and three clean sheets.
That includes his season-high haul of 14 points against Brighton last weekend.
Indeed, Cash is now Villa’'s top-scoring player in Fantasy on 88 points, having combined two goals and an assist with nine clean sheets.
Kyle Walker-Peters (SOU) £4.8m, 1.4%
The Southampton right-back has boasted a major goal threat recently.
Walker-Peters has recorded seven shots in the box in the last four Gameweeks, more than any other defender in Fantasy.
He has blanked in only three of his last eight matches, producing a goal, two assists and two clean sheets in that spell.
Promisingly for Saints, both those clean sheets have come in their last two matches, suggesting it is worth investing in their defence against Villa and Newcastle.
