Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) rewarded the Fantasy Premier League managers who handed him the armband when he starred in Liverpool's 7-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday, as his two goals and two assists plus full bonus earned them 21 points.

The Liverpool star was the third-most captained player by managers and profited from his two main rivals failing to score on Saturday.

Salah has now racked up an impressive 79 points over his last five outings against the Red Devils, courtesy of nine goals, four assists and 10 bonus.

Erling Haaland (£12.2m) took his tally to 33 attacking returns in 2022/23 Fantasy, nine more than any other player, but he was not on the scoresheet for the sixth time in 10 matches.

A yellow card in Manchester City's 2-0 win over Newcastle United reduced his score to four points to frustrate more than five million managers who handed the Manchester City striker their armband. 

Nonetheless his backers breathed a sigh of relief as captaincy rival Bukayo Saka (£8.5m) blanked for the just the second time in nine home matches in Arsenal's thrilling 3-2 turnaround win over AFC Bournemouth.

Hopes had been high following Saka's 15-point haul in Double Gameweek 25, with 56 members of the top 100 handing him the armband.
