Manchester City boosted their hopes of reaching a second UEFA Champions League final in three years, after a 1-1 semi-final, first-leg draw at Real Madrid.

Trailing 1-0 at half-time, Kevin De Bruyne scored a stunning equaliser from long range on 67 minutes.

Vinicius Jr had given 14-time winners Real Madrid a first-half lead, with a superb shot from outside the area.

The two sides will meet again in the second leg at Etihad Stadium next Wednesday, when Man City will hope to advance to the final stage for the first time since 2020/21.
