Burnley have made their first signing ahead of their Premier League return, activating the option to turn Jordan Beyer’s loan move into a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old German defender arrived from Borussia Monchengladbach last September and played 35 times in the Clarets' Championship-winning season, contributing to 18 clean sheets and scoring his first-ever goal in January.
Signing a four-year deal, Beyer told Burnley’s official website: “I couldn’t be happier at the moment, lifting the trophy on Monday, winning the league and now set to become a Claret on a permanent basis.
“I’ve enjoyed being here since the moment I stepped into this building. It feels like home to me.
“I love playing at Turf Moor and celebrating with the fans and hopefully there is more of that to come.”

Beyer’s permanent move comes three days after manager Vincent Kompany signed a new five-year contract.
Beyer will learn his opponents for his Premier League debut when the fixtures for the 2023/24 Premier League season are announced on Thursday 15 June. The campaign kicks off on 12 August.
