More than 7.96m managers made Haaland their captain, with a further 175,124 managers playing their Triple Captain chip on the Norwegian, bringing a total of 8,136,171.
That means a massive 82.0 per cent of all FPL managers entrusted Haaland with delivering returns, which beats the previous high of 78.2 per cent from GW3.
The previous record for captains was Haaland in GW4, when 7,340,323 handed him the armband. Including Triple Captains, the total was 7,458,554.
GW6 most-captained players
Player | Captained by | Pts |

Salah (LIV) | 288,021 | 10 |
Alvarez (MCI) | 165,313 | 1 |
The most-transferred in player for Gameweek 6, Julian Alvarez (£6.9m), featured among the top three captains for the first time.
The Argentinian had moved up to second in the Fantasy player standings following a goal, four assists, and three bonus points over the last two rounds.
Unfortunately for his backers and the 1.3m managers who bought him, he produced his lowest points tally of the season. Alvarez was subbed off before the hour, having failed to score or assist, resulting in a one-point return.
Remarkably, the No 1 transfer target has blanked in each Gameweek of this season.
Worth the wait for Salah
Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) completed the top three captains, and the 288,000+ managers who opted for him over Haaland faced an anxious wait for the Liverpool star to take on West Ham United on Sunday.
But the wait was worth it as Salah scored and returned 10 points in a 3-1 win to outscore his captaincy rivals.
