Eden Hazard has announced his retirement from football.
The former Chelsea winger hangs up his boots at the age of 32, having made 245 Premier League appearances following his move to Stamford Bridge in 2012, scoring 85 goals and providing 54 assists.
Hazard won two league titles with Chelsea and is regarded as one of the finest players to grace the competition.
He was named the Premier League Player of the Season in 2014/15, and his 15 assists in 2018/19 season earned him the Playmaker award, while he also claimed the Premier League Player of the Month award twice.
The Belgian also helped the Blues to two UEFA Europa League successes, an FA Cup triumph and an EFL Cup success. His last club was Real Madrid, joining them in 2019.
"You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time," he wrote on social media. "After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer.
“I was able to realise my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world. During my career I was lucky to meet great managers, coaches and team-mates - thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all.”
Everyone at the Premier League wishes Hazard well for his future.
