When Jay Rodriguez scored inside 16 seconds for Burnley at home to Sheffield United, it was a familiar feeling for the veteran striker.
His goal at Turf Moor was the fastest of the 2023/24 season so far.

But it is not the first time he has struck so early in a Premier League match.
Almost 10 years ago to the day, Rodriguez scored an even faster goal when Southampton visited Chelsea.
Rodriguez scored in 13.68 seconds at Stamford Bridge on 1 December 2013, the 12th-fastest goal in Premier League history.
The 34-year-old is the only player to appear twice in the top 15 fastest goals in Premier League.
However, his goal for Southampton was not the fastest of the 2013/14 season, pipped by 0.04 seconds by Asmir Begovic for Stoke City at home to Southampton.
