Is Rodri the best Premier League midfielder ever?

More than 1.3million managers have already signed up for 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League following the game's release on Wednesday afternoon.

Here, The Scout pinpoints the players you NEED to own for the start of the new season.

Alexander Isak (Newcastle) £8.5m

Similarly to Mohamed Salah (£12.5m), the Newcastle United forward was not involved in the summer tournaments and has his own kind schedule to make an immediate impact on 2024/25. Isak scored 21 goals in 27 starts last season and faces Southampton, AFC Bournemouth, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham across the first five Gameweeks.

Josko Gvardiol (Man City) £6.0m

The Manchester City star finished his debut 2023/24 season in style, producing all his attacking returns – four goals and two assists – from Gameweek 30 onwards. Gvardiol also collected five clean sheets in that spell to total 79 points, more than any other defender in Fantasy, showing just why he can be the best pick at the back in 2024/25.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) £12.5m

Salah's lack of international commitments over the summer means he will be well-rested ahead of their very favourable opening schedule. Five of the Reds’ first seven matches score just two in the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), giving Liverpool’s Egyptian the chance to deliver big captain hauls from the outset.

Cole Palmer (Chelsea) £10.5m

The Chelsea star produced 22 goals and 13 assists to finish 2023/24 as the top-scoring player in Fantasy, despite not making his full debut until Gameweek 7. Palmer’s incredible consistency meant he blanked only ONCE in his 13 starts at Stamford Bridge, while his 15 attacking returns in away matches were just two behind the league-high 17 of Ollie Watkins (£9.0m).
