Chelsea have completed the signing of left-back Caleb Wiley from MLS side Atlanta United.
The 19-year-old US international has agreed to a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge, with the club having an option to extend by another year.
He becomes Chelsea's sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
Who is Caleb Wiley?
Born in Atlanta, Georgia on 22 December 2004, Wiley joined Atlanta United's academy at the age of 11 and progressed through the club's youth system.
He spent 2020 and 2021 in the second team in the USL Championship before making the step up in 2022 and enjoyed a memorable debut against Sporting Kansas City in the MLS, netting in a 3-1 win.
Wiley would go on to feature a further 25 times in his maiden season.
The teenager then made further progress in 2023 for Atlanta, featuring 30 times in the league and scoring four goals as well as assisting three. In total Wiley featured 85 times across all competitions for Atlanta.
For his national side, Wiley has featured for the Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 teams and then went on to make his senior debut in October 2023 against Mexico.
Wiley has also been included for the US men's football team in Paris as they prepare to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games.
Chelsea start their pre-season schedule with a match against Wrexham in California on 24 July.
They begin their Premier League campaign by hosting champions Manchester City on 18 August.
