Ten new signings who could make their debut in Matchweek 4

A home encounter with Everton earns Aston Villa pair Morgan Rogers (£5.1m) and Pau Torres (£4.5m) a place in The Scout’s best XI for Gameweek 4 of Fantasy Premier League

The Toffees arrive at Villa Park having conceded 10 goals across their first three matches of 2024/25, which lifts the appeal of versatile attacker Rogers. He has produced five shots and five key passes over the first three Gameweeks, ranking second among team-mates for both those statistics.

Everton have also failed to score in two of those three encounters, suggesting Pau can collect his first clean sheet of the new campaign.

The Villa pair are picked in a best XI that lines up in a 3-4-3 formation, with Erling Haaland (£15.2m) handed the armband and Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) named as vice-captain.

Scout Selection GW4
Bart Verbruggen (Brighton) £4.5m

The Brighton & Hove Albion No 1 made six saves and earned four points against Arsenal in Gameweek 3. Verbruggen faces an Ipswich Town side whose 19 shots, 11 shots in the box and two big chances all rank bottom over the opening three Gameweeks.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) £7.0m

Three clean sheets and two bonus points over the first three Gameweeks have taken Liverpool's right-back to the top of the defender standings on 20 points. Alexander-Arnold’s seven key passes and three big chances created also both rank first in his position in Fantasy.

Rico Lewis (Man City) £4.7m

The budget defender has played 90 minutes in all three of Manchester City’s matches to date. An assist, a clean sheet and one bonus point highlight Lewis’ many routes to returns at home to Brentford on Saturday.

Pau Torres (Aston Villa) £4.5m

Aston Villa’s centre-back boasts a strong threat at set-pieces, having scored twice across his 27 starts in the previous campaign.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) £12.7m

The Egyptian has delivered double-figure returns in all three of Liverpool’s outings under new head coach Arne Slot. Salah’s five big chances and four big chances created both rank among the top two players in 2024/25 Fantasy, showing why he is among the very best armband options for this weekend's contest at home to Nottingham Forest

Cole Palmer (Chelsea) £10.6m

Chelsea’s England star claimed 17 points in his last away match, thanks to a goal and three assists in a 6-2 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Palmer’s opponents AFC Bournemouth have conceded 33 shots in the box, a total better than just two other sides.

Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace) £6.9m

The Crystal Palace talisman enters a home fixture against Leicester City on the back of a goal and 10 points at Chelsea last time out. Eze’s total of 15 shots place second among all players in Fantasy, bettered only by the 17 of Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo (£5.6m).

Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa) £5.1m

At a cost of only £5.1m, Rogers has the schedule to offer great value in Fantasy. According to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), each of Villa’s next three matches – against Everton, Wolves and Ipswich – score only two.

Erling Haaland (Man City) £15.2m

Man City’s Norwegian enters a home match against Brentford on the back of successive hat-tricks and 17-point hauls against Ipswich and West Ham United. Haaland’s ownership has soared to 67 per cent – over 24 per cent more than any other player – which indicates he will very likely be the runaway captain pick for Gameweek 4.

Rodrigo Muniz (Fulham) £6.1m

Although he has yet to score this season, Fulham’s Brazilian has had 11 shots in the box – a total bettered only by the 12 of Haaland. Muniz has a home fixture versus a West Ham side who have conceded a league-high 37 shots in the box across the first three Gameweeks of 2024/25.

Danny Welbeck (Brighton) £5.7m

The forward has blanked only once in his three outings under Fabian Hurzeler, producing two goals, an assist and a team-high 21 points. Brighton's visitors Ipswich have conceded 13 big chances, the joint-most over the first three Gameweeks of the new campaign.
