Last weekend, Yoane Wissa had struck after only 22 seconds at Manchester City.

As well as registering the two fastest goals of the season so far, Brentford became only the second side in Premier League history to open the scoring inside the opening minutes of consecutive matches.

The only other team to do so were Man  City in 2018/19. First, Sergio Aguero struck after 24 seconds at Newcastle United on 29 January 2019, before the Argentinian scored after only 46 seconds at home to Arsenal five days later.

Like with Brentford at the Etihad, Man City were unable to defend their early lead at St James’ Park and lost 2-1 to Newcastle, while against Arsenal Aguero's quick goal set up City for a 3-1 home win

At Spurs, Brentford again failed to capitalise on the early goal and went down to a 3-1 defeat.
