Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran has signed a new long-term contract with the club until 2030, following his blistering start to the 2024/25 campaign.
The Colombia international's new deal will delight supporters who are still buzzing from his spectacular winner in last week's UEFA Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.
That was Duran's sixth goal in all competitions this season - and remarkably, he has scored FIVE of them as a substitute. In the Premier League, he has netted against West Ham United, Leicester City, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers, with three of the goals being decisive.
His left-footed screamer at Everton's expense was nominated for September's Guinness Goal of the Month award, with the winner being announced this Friday.

The 20-year-old also netted in the only game he has started in 2024/25 so far, in the EFL Cup at Wycombe Wanderers, where his penalty helped Unai Emery's men to edge their third-round tie 2-1.
Duran has made 42 Premier League appearances in total, scoring nine times, since arriving from Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire in the January 2023 transfer window. In all competitions, he has netted 14 goals in 59 games but is surprisingly yet to contribute an assist.
Rapid impact off the bench
Villa's super sub needed as little as two minutes to score off the bench at Leicester this season, while his longest timespan between coming on and finding the net is 26 minutes, at home against Wolves.
