How to plan ahead for Double Gameweek 33 in Fantasy

Mohamed Salah (£13.8m) has already broken the record for the most points in a single season in Fantasy Premier League this campaign.

Now, after signing a new contract with Liverpool, can he go on to break the record for points scored across ALL seasons in Fantasy?

He needs 253 points to surpass Wayne Rooney as Fantasy's all-time leading points scorer. Additionally, he has seven matches left in 2024/25 to reduce the Manchester United legend's lead.

If Salah was to maintain his 2024/25 average of 10 points per game (311 points in 31 starts), he would need just 183 points in Fantasy 2025/26 to claim the record outright. He has achieved this tally in each of the last eight Premier League seasons.

Back in Double Gameweek 24, Salah joined an exclusive club of Rooney, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard as the only players to surpass 2,000 points since Fantasy began in 2002/03.

All-time points top 10
Player Appearances Points
Wayne Rooney 491 2,338
Frank Lampard 424 2,318
Mohamed Salah 294 2,086
Steven Gerrard 402 2,044
Petr Cech 443 1,908
John Terry 431 1,908
Harry Kane 320 1,891
James Milner 637 1,877
Raheem Sterling 392 1,849
Son Heung-min 331 1,727
Gareth Barry 539 1,727

Impressively, Salah has reached the landmark total in just 294 appearances.

At the top of the table, Rooney, who made his Premier League debut in Fantasy's inaugural season in 2002/03, racked up 491 appearances over his career. Lampard, in second, played 424 times in Fantasy and Gerrard featured on 402 occasions.

Salah has also made the end-of-season Dream Team more often than his rivals.

The current campaign is set to be his eighth successive appearance, double Rooney's total and one more than Lampard who, along with Harry Kane, is the only other player to be included seven times or more.

Since his debut in Gameweek 25 of the 2013/14 season, Salah has scored 184 goals, supplied 97 assists, and earned 221 bonus points.

A history-making campaign

In Gameweek 28 this season, Salah broke the record for the most points in a campaign by picking up his 304th point against Southampton, beating his own record that was set in 2017/18 Fantasy, when he finished on 303 points.

He is also Liverpool's leading player in Fantasy, having overtaken another Reds legend, Gerrard, when he picked up a goal and assist against Aston Villa in Double Gameweek 25.
