Arsenal have confirmed that striker Gabriel Jesus has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee.
The club say Jesus will undergo surgery in the coming days and have put no timeline on his return to action.
The 27-year-old Brazilian was taken off on a stretcher in the weekend's FA Cup penalty-shootout loss to Manchester United after a collision with Bruno Fernandes.

Injury woes for Arsenal
The timing of Jesus’s injury is unfortunate as he had just discovered a rich vein of form after some early-season struggles.
He had become Arsenal’s most in-form scorer, registering six goals across four matches in all competitions at the end of December and start of January.
His absence comes as Arsenal’s difficulties in front of goal have been at their most acute. Across successive home matches against Newcastle United in the EFL Cup and Manchester United in the FA Cup they have registered more than six Expected Goals in total but actually scored only one in the two defeats - part of a wider three-match winless run.
Arsenal have already lost winger Bukayo Saka to a hamstring injury and his replacement Ethan Nwaneri has also got injured.

Arteta did not specify whether the Jesus injury might force Arsenal into the transfer market for a new forward.
“My answer doesn't change, it remains the same - we are actively looking in the market to improve the squad, and that’s been the same since day one,” he said.
“It would be naive not to do that because it is always an opportunity to evolve the team and improve the squad, especially with the circumstances. So yes, we are looking and we are trying and let's see what we are able to do.”
