Aston Villa have completed the signing of Axel Disasi on loan for the rest of the 2024/25 season.
Disasi becomes Villa's second arrival on deadline day, following the acquisition of Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain. The French centre-back is the club's fifth arrival in the January transfer window.
Disasi's career so far
Disasi began his career with Paris FC before joining Stade Reims in July 2017 and then Monaco in August 2020.
He spent three seasons with Monaco, making 129 appearances across all competitions before joining Chelsea ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Disasi has been capped five times for France, and played three times in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, including a brief appearance in the final against Argentina.
This season, Disasi has featured 17 times under head coach Enzo Maresca, with his last appearance a 3-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 20th January.
When could Disasi feature for Villa?
Villa supporters could get their first look of Disasi this Sunday when his new club host Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
His Premier League debut could come at home to Ipswich Town on Saturday 15 February.
