QUIZ: Test your knowledge of Matchweek 28's fixtures

The Scout highlights the opportunities available for managers who have the Assistant Manager chip active in Gameweek 28 of Fantasy Premier League.

Who is the best Assistant Manager for Gameweek 28?

If you are one of the 390,000 Fantasy managers who activated their Assistant Manager chip in Gameweek 26, there is now just one Gameweek remaining to earn more points.

On top of that, more than 560,000 managers have activated the chip in Gameweek 27 or 28. So who is the best pick for Gameweek 28 fixtures?

There are two tactics to consider with the Assistant Manager chip.

You can pick a top-five club with a favourable fixture - a tactic which is more reliable but has a lower ceiling for points.

Alternatively, you can target managers from clubs who can earn table bonus - a riskier approach which has a greater ceiling.

You can see the six clubs (in bold below) whose manager can earn table bonus against a team who are ranked at least five places higher in the Premier League table at the start of the Gameweek.

Gameweek 28 fixtures

Nottingham Forest v Man City
Brighton v Fulham
Crystal Palace v Ipswich
Liverpool v Southampton
Brentford v Aston Villa
Wolves v Everton
Chelsea v Leicester
Spurs
v AFC Bournemouth
Man Utd v Arsenal
West Ham v Newcastle

Slot the most reliable pick

Liverpool boss Arne Slot (£1.5m) has scored 58 Assistant Manager points since Gameweek 23, the joint-most along with Everton's David Moyes (£0.5m). The ever-reliable Dutchman has returned back-to-back 10-point hauls and faces Southampton at Anfield in Gameweek 28.

Saints have won just one of their last 17 Premier League matches and conceded four goals against Chelsea in Gameweek 27.

Maresca v Leicester?

After returning a season-high 12-point haul against Southampton in Gameweek 27, Enzo Maresca (£1.5m) will be looking to repeat the trick against his old club Leicester City

The Foxes have failed to score in each of their last four matches and are without a clean sheet since Gameweek 7.

Oliver Glasner (£0.8m) also faces a team in the bottom three, with Ipswich Town visiting Selhurst Park. The Crystal Palace boss has returned back-to-back 20-point hauls and has guided the Eagles to three wins from their last four matches.

However, with no fixture in Gameweek 29 and no table bonus on offer this week, Fantasy managers not in the final week of the three-Gameweek chip may wish to move on from the Austrian.

Potter the best hope for table bonus?

As mentioned earlier in the article, six managers can collect table bonus in Gameweek 28.

This applies to the promoted trio; Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna (£0.5m), Southampton’s Ivan Juric (£0.5m) and Leicester’s Ruud van Nistelrooy (£0.5m), as well as Tottenham Hotspur’s Ange Postecoglou (£1.1m), Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim (£0.8m) and West Ham’s Graham Potter (£0.5m).

Of those six managers, only Amorim and Potter picked up wins last time out, beating Ipswich and Leicester respectively.

Potter also guided West Ham to victory in Gameweek 26, a table-bonus win against Arsenal

The Hammers' boss arguably has the best fixture of the six managers this week, at home to Newcastle United

The Magpies have lost three of their last four league matches, including their last two away trips. They come into Gameweek 28 without the injured Lewis Hall (£5.0m) and suspended Anthony Gordon (£7.4m), and could potentially have one eye on next weekend’s EFL Cup final.

So, who is the best pick for Gameweek 28?

If you’re looking for a reliable source of points, albeit with a lower ceiling, Slot has to be the top pick, followed by Maresca.

However, if you are willing to accept the riskier approach then Potter appears the most likely to deliver a big table-bonus return.

Finally, for Fantasy managers already on Glasner and in the final week of the chip, it may be worth holding the Palace boss and prioritising your free transfer elsewhere.
