Vokes: Chelsea chance for us to put marker down

Sam Vokes wants Burnley to build on last season’s success of Premier League survival.

Sean Dyche’s side head to champions Chelsea for their first match on Saturday and Vokes is confident they can give a good account of themselves at Stamford Bridge.

“It’s a great chance for us to go and show what we’re about this season and put a marker down,” he told burnleyfc.com.

“For a club our size survival is the first thing for us, but we want to go beyond that.”
