Burnley, Middlesbrough and Hull City will be looking to buck the trend of winless years for promoted clubs in the opening round of Premier League fixtures this season.
Promoted sides have picked up 13 opening-day victories from 71 matches over the competition's 24 seasons and only two in the past seven campaigns. The last occasion a club secured three points on their first match since promotion was when West Ham United beat Aston Villa in August 2012.
In the three seasons since, the promoted teams have picked up only two points from a possible 27 on offer.

Burnley have competed in two Premier League campaigns and have lost both of their openers.
In 2009/10, they went down 2-0 away to Stoke City. Five years later, Sean Dyche’s side suffered a 3-1 home defeat to the eventual champions Chelsea.
Middlesbrough will be contesting their 15th campaign in the Premier League but their first since 2008/09. When they last opened a season as a promoted team, in 1998/99, they drew 0-0 with George Graham’s Leeds United at the Riverside Stadium.
Hull City know what it is like to win on their first match as a new arrival to the Premier League. Steve Bruce’s side will be enjoying their fifth campaign in the Premier League and will hope for a repeat of their first match, when they beat Fulham 2-1 in August 2008.
After losing twice to Chelsea on opening days in following campaigns, the second as a promoted club, Hull beat Queens Park Rangers 1-0 in their last opening-weekend Premier League match, in 2014/15.
On five occasions, all three promoted clubs have lost their openers (1993/94, 2002/03, 2005/06, 2009/10 and 2013/14), while at the start of only two seasons have all three avoided defeat (1996/97 and 2004/05).
Only once have more than one promoted team claimed three points on Matchweek 1, in 1997/98 when Bolton Wanderers and Crystal Palace both won.
