Swansea City's signing of Mark Birighitti, of the Newcastle Jets, has continued a long love affair the Premier League has had with Australian goalkeepers.
In total, eight goalkeepers from Down Under have appeared in the top flight over the course of the last 24 seasons.
The first to appear in the opening campaign, 1992/93, were Mark Bosnich of Aston Villa, and Jason Kearton of Everton.
The goalkeeper to have graced the Premier League on the most occasions is Mark Schwarzer, who has played 514 matches across spells with Middlesbrough, Fulham, Chelsea and Leicester City.
