Luke Charman scored twice as a Newcastle United team including 11 Geordies beat local rivals Sunderland 5-0 at St James' Park.
Captain Owen Bailey and Callum Roberts put the Magpies in control before the break.
Durham-born Charman made the match safe with his brace on 60 and 70 minutes before substitute Elias Sorensen completed the scoring.
Newcastle go second in the table after their first win but Sunderland, relegated last season, are bottom after their second straight defeat.
UNDER-23s: Coach Ben Dawson was pleased with the way his players approached last night's 5-0 win against Sunderland.
