Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to return to winning ways after their derby defeat to Arsenal, while Southampton will seek to build on their draw against Manchester United in the wake of Mark Hughes's departure.

Team news

Spurs defender Kieran Trippier (groin) is available for selection after returning to training.

Jan Vertonghen is suspended while Mousa Dembele (ankle), Davinson Sanchez (hamstring) and Victor Wanyama (knee) are also out. Erik Lamela (thigh) is a doubt.

Southampton will be without Mario Lemina (suspended) and and young striker Michael Obafemi (hamstring) who pulled up during his Premier League debut against Manchester United.

Ryan Bertrand (back), Matt Targett (head) and Danny Ings (thigh) are being assessed.
