Tyreke Johnson scored the winner as Southampton came from behind to defeat Middlesbrough 2-1 to go level on points with Premier League 2 Division 2 leaders Reading.
It was Middlesbrough who took the lead, Ben Liddle scoring on 10 minutes from a free-kick, but Saints equalised just after the hour mark through Jonathan Afolabi's first-time finish.
And with 12 minutes to go, Johnson held his nerve from the penalty spot to seal Southampton's third straight PL2 victory.
Saints are second on 30 points, behind Reading on goal difference, while Middlesbrough, without a win in four, remain seventh on 18 points.
