Southampton made it five wins from seven Premier League matches with an impressive 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace.
The visitors' passing was crisp from the outset, and Nathan Redmond fired them into the lead with a stunning strike into the top corner on 22 minutes.
Stuart Armstrong then curled in another wonderful shot to double Saints' lead three minutes after half-time.
Max Meyer set up striker Connor Wickham for a chance as the Eagles searched for a way back, but Jannik Vestergaard did superbly to snuff out the danger.
Wilfried Zaha then fed Wickham for a half-chance which he struck wide.
Southampton leapfrog their hosts, moving up to ninth with 31 points while Palace drop to 10th with 30 points.
