Adam Armstrong's brilliant early strike handed Southampton a 1-0 win over Aston Villa.
The striker scored his second goal of the season in the third minute with a first-time shot from outside of the area.
Southampton were dominant in the first half and had plenty of chances to add to their lead. Stuart Armstrong shot over from an inviting position at the far post before James Ward-Prowse's drive was superbly kept out by Emiliano Martinez.
Villa improved in the second half with Anwar El Ghazi forcing a save from Alex McCarthy before Emiliano Buendia shot wide.
But the visitors were ultimately grateful to Martinez for keeping the score down as he saved a Che Adams header from looping in.
A fourth match unbeaten for Southampton lifts them up to 13th with 14 points.
Villa are four points behind them in 16th following a fifth consecutive defeat.
