Burnley 3-0 West Ham United

Match summary

9 Nov 2019
Burnley v West Ham United

Burnley moved into the top half of the table with a 3-0 victory over West Ham United at Turf Moor.

Ashley Barnes celebrated signing a new contract this week by opening the scoring on 11 minutes.

Chris Wood had a headed goal overturned for offside after VAR review before doubling Burnley's lead, converting Dwight McNeil's cross a minute before half-time.

West Ham goalkeeper Roberto could only turn Ashley Westwood's corner into his own net shortly after the restart to add to the deficit.

Aaron Cresswell was thwarted by Nick Pope shortly after Burnley's third.

That was the closest the Hammers, who finished the match with 10 men after Manuel Lanzini injured a shoulder, came to scoring.

Burnley move up to ninth with 15 points. West Ham drop to 16th, on 13 points.
