Ian Wright believes the quality of Chelsea's summer signings puts them among the challengers for the title.
"With the goalkeeper, Thiago Silva, Ziyech, Havertz and Werner coming in and the quality and standard of those players, they should be [title contenders]," said Wright after Chelsea's 4-1 victory over Sheffield United at the weekend lifted them to fifth in the table.
The former Arsenal striker believes Frank Lampard's side will only improve as they play more matches and become a more cohesive unit.
"It's about fitting the pieces together," Wright added. "They've got everything in their armoury to challenge, without a doubt."
Chelsea are three points behind leaders Leicester City and will aim to extend their six-match unbeaten run when they visit Newcastle United after the international break before they face top-six rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
