The Scout's panel of experts give their verdicts on who managers should captain ahead of the Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 19 deadline of 13:30 GMT on Sunday 26 December.

Newcastle United have shipped 41 goals this season, more than any other side. As Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) does not have a fixture, Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.5m) is the standout option against the Magpies.

Finally time to prise the armband from the Egyptian's arm and give it to someone else. My top pick is Ronaldo. Manchester United's mini-break should have done them good and Newcastle are statistically the league's worst defence.

Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)

I unexpectedly find myself with Harry Kane (£12.1m) in my team after recent postponements and he now looks my best captain option. Fingers crossed he can build on his goal against Liverpool.

Paul Gee (@FPLPaulGee)

Ronaldo versus a poor Newcastle defence looks the one for me right now.

Tom Cantle (@WGTA_FPL)

All being well, I'll probably be going with Ronaldo as my Free Hit captain this week against a leaky Newcastle defence.

Geoff Dance (@GeoffreyDance)

Son Heung-min (£10.3m) is among the 10 top-scoring players this season, with four attacking returns in his last three matches. He has three double-figure hauls in his last four home matches against Crystal Palace.
