Aston Villa have signed Pau Torres from Villarreal, their second addition of the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old centre-back is reunited with Unai Emery, whom he previously worked under at Villarreal, winning the UEFA Europa League together in 2020/21.

Torres joins Villa after playing a key role in 2022/23 for Villarreal, helping them finish fifth in LaLiga. The season before he helped them reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
During his time with the Spanish side, he played 173 times across all competitions, making his debut in 2016/17 and playing 23 times for the national team.
Villa fans could get a first glimpse of the Spaniard when they play their first pre-season match, against Walsall on 15 July.
Torres could also be involved in the Premier League's Summer Series tournament. Villa's first match is on 23 July, against Newcastle United, who are also their opening opponents of their 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
