The Serbia-born Hungarian played in 33 Eredivisie matches last season, scoring three goals and providing one assist as AZ finished fourth, qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Kerkez also played 11 times in the 2022/23 Europa Conference League as they reached the semi-finals, where they narrowly lost to eventual winners West Ham United.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Milos, a talented young player with a great deal of potential," Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told the club's official website.
“He was being tracked by a number of clubs in Europe but was very keen to join us after hearing about our plans and ambitions for the future.
“An athletic and attacking full-back, Milos will be an excellent addition to our exciting squad and we are looking forward to working with him.”
Prior to moving to the Netherlands, Kerkez featured for AC Milan's youth sides from 2020, after beginning his career with Hungarian side ETO FC Gyor.
