Everton are without a league victory in 2023/24, but did go into the international break having earned their first point of the season following a 2-2 draw against Sheffield United.

Arsenal, meanwhile, travel to Goodison Park on the back of a dramatic 3-1 win over Manchester United, their third success from the first four Matchweeks.

The Toffees will take heart from their recent home displays against Arsenal, having not lost to them there since a 5-2 defeat in October 2017.

What the managers have said

Sean Dyche: “Last season [against Arsenal at Goodison Park] we were in good shape and stayed committed to cause. At that stage, it was a big game, a big moment, and every player’s nose was pointing in the right direction. They were all playing on the edge. That’s what we want. We want every player doing that all the time.” More details

Mikel Arteta: "Obviously I have a big emotional attachment to that football club [Everton], the way they treated me and the years that I spent there. The incredible memories that I have, so always grateful. It was a big, big part of my playing career, and now as a coach I have to play against them and obviously I want to beat them." More details
