Why the players were nominated
Ken Aboh: The Norwich City forward claimed a brace in a 4-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers before scoring a penalty in a 6-0 win at Manchester City.
Ryan Bartley: The defender scored twice in Derby County's 5-1 triumph over Reading, only their second victory of the season.
Luke Harris: Fulham's Welsh midfielder provided a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, and added another assist in a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa. This week Harris has joined League One side Exeter City on loan for the rest of the season.
Justin Hubner: Wolves' defender was on the scoresheet in both of his side's matches in December, netting in a 3-1 victory at Leicester City and a 2-1 home defeat to Blackburn. Hubner made his senior debut for Indonesia earlier this week, appearing as a second-half substitute in a 4-0 loss to Libya.
Callum Marshall: The winner of September's PL2 Player of the Month award continued his stellar season by scoring twice in a 3-1 success over Nottingham Forest before converting a penalty and setting up a goal in a 5-1 triumph at Crystal Palace. He is top of the PL2 scoring chart with 16 goals, eight more than anyone else, while West Ham United sit second in the table.
Francis Okoronkwo: Fresh from signing a new contract with Everton in November, Okoronkwo hit a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Southampton.
Vicente Reyes: The Chile Under-20 goalkeeper kept clean sheets in both of his December appearances for Norwich, registering shutouts against Blackburn and Man City.
