Arsenal have announced that Arsene Wenger has signed a new two-year deal to continue as manager.

Wenger’s previous contract was due to expire this summer but after winning the club’s third FA Cup in four years on Saturday, the 67-year-old has agreed to stay on until the end of 2018/19.

“I love this club and I am looking forward to the future with optimism and excitement," Wenger told arsenal.com. “I am grateful to have the support of the board and Stan [Kroenke] in doing everything we can to win more trophies."

Owner Stan Kroenke added: “Our ambition is to win the Premier League and other major trophies in Europe. Arsene is the best person to help us make that happen. He has a fantastic track record and has our full backing.”
