Manchester United have more wins (22) and more points (70) from their opening matches of Premier League campaigns than any other side.

Joshua Zirkzee became the 15th Dutch player to score on his Premier League debut, with four of those doing so for United (Ruud van Nistelrooy, Alexander Buttner and Donny van de Beek).

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah became the outright leader for Premier League goals (nine) and goal involvements (14 – also five assists) on MW1 in the competition.

Salah has now both scored and assisted in 32 different Premier League matches, with only Wayne Rooney (36) doing so more in the competition’s history.

Ipswich Town's Ali Al-Hamadi became the first player from Iraq to appear in the Premier League, with Iraq becoming the 124th country represented in the competition.

Through Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz, Arsenal had two players both score and assist in the opening match of a Premier League season for the first time. Indeed, prior to today, the last Arsenal player to score and assist on MW1 was Cesc Fabregas vs Everton in 2009/10.

James Milner has now played in 23 different Premier League seasons, more than any other player in the competition’s history.

Milner's appearance under Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler, is the first time in Premier League history a player has played a match for a manager who is as many as seven years younger than him. Hurzeler was nine-years-old when Milner made his debut in 2002.

At 39 years and 39 days old, Everton’s Ashley Young became the oldest ever player to be sent off in a Premier League match.

Danny Welbeck has now scored in 16 different Premier League campaigns, with only six players ever netting in more (Ryan Giggs 21, Paul Scholes 19, Frank Lampard 18, plus John Terry, Jermain Defoe and Milner all 17).

Amadou Onana made a dream start to life at Aston Villa on Saturday as he scored inside four minutes of his debut against West Ham United, the ninth-fastest goal by a player on his maiden appearance for a club in the Premier League.
