The Scout delves into the data to help managers in Fantasy Premier League pick the best Tottenham Hotspur players ahead of their very kind run of fixtures.
Spurs are set to embark on a run of opponents that is bound to raise interest in their key assets at both ends of the pitch.
According to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), five of their next eight matches score a mere two, with Ange Postecoglou's side hosting West Ham United, Aston Villa, Ipswich Town and Fulham in that spell.

Son Heung-min (£9.9m), Brennan Johnson (£6.4m) and James Maddison (£7.5m) have all enjoyed a strong start this season.
All three have been involved in four goals, with mid-priced Johnson mirroring the two goals and two assists of Son.
Son's average of 6.6 points per match (ppm) is comfortably ahead of his midfield team-mates, though, with both Johnson and Maddison averaging 4.8ppm along with centre-back Micky van de Ven (£4.5m).
Van de Ven has combined two assists with Spurs’ two clean sheets, while fellow defenders Cristian Romero (£5.1m) and Pedro Porro (£5.5m) have each scored once.
Summer signing Dominic Solanke (£7.6m), meanwhile, appears to be settling in nicely. Both of his goals this season have come in the last two Gameweeks against Brentford and Manchester United.

Who is most likely to score?
The underlying attacking statistics can help managers get a better idea of the players who are most likely to score goals.
Johnson’s numbers immediately catch the eye. His 18 shots in the box are SIX TIMES the three of Son and place him third among ALL players in Fantasy this season, just one behind the 19 of Mohamed Salah (£12.7m).
Solanke also impresses in this analysis, bearing in mind he has only played four matches. His role as the focal point of the Spurs attack has made a significant impact on his number of big chances - situations where the player is expected to score.
Solanke’s eight big chances are TWICE the total of any team-mate and put him joint-third among all players this season.
The forward is averaging a big chance every 44.6 minutes in his first season with Ange Postecoglou, quicker than any other forward this campaign and over TWICE as fast as his average of 111.7 minutes in his final campaign with AFC Bournemouth in 2023/24.
In defence, Romero and Porro’s numbers are also encouraging. Romero’s seven shots in the box highlight his huge threat from free-kicks and corners, and place him just one off top spot among defenders.
Porro’s 11 shots, meanwhile, rank top in his position in Fantasy, although just two of those have come from inside the penalty area.
Spurs' top goal threats 2024/25
Player | Shots | Shots in box | Big chances | Goal conversion |
---|---|---|---|---|
Johnson | 18 | 18 | 4 | 11.1% |
Solanke | 13 | 12 | 8 | 15.4% |
Maddison | 12 | 9 | 4 | 8.3% |
Kulusevski | 11 | 8 | 1 | 9.1% |
Porro | 11 | 2 | 0 | 9.1% |
Romero | 7 | 7 | 2 | 14.3% |
Son | 7 | 3 | 2 | 28.6% |
Who has been the most creative?
The creativity numbers highlight each player’s potential for assists, with Dejan Kulusevski (£6.2m) the top performer for Spurs in the first six Gameweeks.
The Swede’s 20 key passes rank SECOND among all players in Fantasy, narrowly behind the 21 of Dwight McNeil (£5.6m).
There’s little to separate Son and Maddison here. Both have produced 13 key passes, with the former just edging it for big chances created by four to three.
Porro impresses again when assessed against other defenders in Fantasy, with his 12 key passes ranking third.
However, what is noticeable here is that Porro’s prospects appear to have been dented due to his lack of set-piece duties this season.
Last campaign, the Spaniard’s 100 corner kicks and 21 free-kick crosses were both more than any team-mate. But this season, Porro has not taken a single corner and has supplied just two crosses from a free-kick.
This could be particularly important when weighing up Spurs’ best Fantasy picks as they have produced 32 shots from set-pieces, the highest total in the league.
Spurs' top creators 2024/25
Player | Key passes | Big chances created | Corner kicks | Free-kick crosses |
---|---|---|---|---|
Kulusevski | 20 | 3 | 26 | 0 |
Son | 13 | 4 | 0 | 0 |
Maddison | 13 | 3 | 26 | 7 |
Porro | 12 | 1 | 0 | 2 |
Johnson | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
So, who are the best Spurs players to invest in?
Son’s potential for huge hauls is difficult to ignore, with the South Korean already delivering 16 and 10-point hauls across his five appearances.
While there’s no denying his lack of shots in the box is somewhat concerning, Son’s world-class finishing is highlighted by the fact that he converts 28.6 per cent of his shots into goals. Furthermore, his four big chances created are more than any team-mate.
Johnson’s numbers are very promising for a mid-price midfielder, but the one issue – unlike Son – is his finishing. Although his 11.1 per cent goal conversion rate is higher than his meagre 9.4 per cent from 2023/24, it still shows that he continues to struggle to convert his scoring opportunities.
Solanke’s statistics suggest he could be a canny pick for managers’ frontlines for many Gameweeks to come. He converted 50 per cent of his big chances last season, compared with only 25 per cent so far in 2024/25. If he can get his finishing skills back to where they were last season then Solanke can score even more in the coming weeks.
At the back, Porro clearly offers the most attacking potential but his lack of set-pieces does go against him. Instead, Romero’s big threat around the opposition box could make him the most productive option. The Argentinian’s five goals last season were more than any defender in Fantasy and he looks well-placed to replicate that output over the rest of 2024/25.
