The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts give their thoughts on who to captain in Gameweek 16 ahead of the deadline at 13:30 GMT on Saturday 14 December.

An easy one this week. Brentford concede a lot of goals and Cole Palmer (£11.1m) is in great form, with Chelsea looking their best for a long time.

With Calvin Bassey (£4.5m) suspended and Joachim Andersen (£4.2m) still seemingly unavailable due to injury, I'll be captaining Mohamed Salah (£13.3m). Fulham have been good defensively this season, but missing their two first choice centre-backs will be a big test at Anfield against the Egyptian. I'm backing an ELEVENTH double-digit haul for Salah!

All three midfield big-hitters, Palmer, Salah and Bukayo Saka (£10.6m), have good home fixtures this week and it's a close one between Palmer and Salah for me. Fulham have been better than Brentford defensively, but with the suspension to Bassey and Andersen still injured, they are short of personnel at the back, which tilts me towards Salah.
Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)
The three standout midfielders in FPL, all with good home fixtures, makes captaincy a difficult decision this week between Salah, Saka and Palmer. Having the midweek rest, however, might be what swings it for me, with Palmer my favourite to wear the armband as things stand. Brentford's away form and their inability to stop conceding big chances on the road also makes the Chelsea star hard to ignore.
Pras (@Pras_FPL)
There are some tasty home games for Saka, Alexander Isak (£8.6m), Salah and Palmer, with the latter two standing out. There isn't one single factor to split the two. Liverpool are the slightly better team, but they also play a Fulham side that have been quite resilient on the road. Chelsea face a Brentford team that have been one of the poorest travellers this season. At the moment, I am leaning slightly towards Palmer.
Oscar (@FPLFocal)
I've narrowed it down to Palmer and Salah as the best two and fortunately have both in my team! Brentford are fourth-worst for Expected Goals Conceded (xGC) in away games, while Fulham are perhaps surprisingly second-best. Twenty-two of Brentford's 23 points have come when they play home, so although it's very close, Palmer is my favourite for captaincy, followed by Salah.

Having got the captaincy wrong last week with Saka, it is important that I get it right this weekend. There is little to choose between Salah, Palmer and Saka, but I think I am edging towards Salah due to the absentees Fulham have at the back, along with Salah and Liverpool's impressive home form.
