Why the players were nominated
Shea Connor (Middlesbrough): The 19-year-old was in commanding form in goal, keeping two clean sheets in victories over Liverpool and Southampton. Connor was alert early on against Liverpool, denying Trent Kone-Doherty with a smart save, and later stood firm as Pharrell Willis’s goal earned his side a 1-0 win over Saints.
Reiss Denny (Tottenham Hotspur): Denny pulled the strings in midfield with a hat-trick of assists in Spurs’ emphatic 4-0 win over Blackburn Rovers. He set up Jaden Williams with a surging run and pinpoint pass, then delivered a cut-back for the striker’s next goal, and capped off a fine display by threading another ball in behind the Blackburn defence for Williams to complete his treble.
Nicholas Michalski (Blackburn Rovers): The 18-year-old was a key figure in two clean-sheet victories, helping Blackburn to six points in March. A brilliant double save against Norwich City kept the scores level before Blackburn took the lead, and Michalski later stood firm again as they shut out Wolves.
Hindolo Mustapha (Crystal Palace): Mustapha has been integral to Palace’s recent form, with the Eagles winning four of their last five matches. He scored a crucial equaliser against Arsenal, and both scored and assisted against Manchester City - first levelling to make it 2-2, then providing a 92nd-minute assist for Dylan Reid to clinch all three points.
Sean Neave (Newcastle United): At only 17 years of age, Neave has netted in all four of his PL2 starts this season. He opened the scoring in a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough and followed up with a goal and two assists in a standout 3-2 victory against Nottingham Forest. Neave was also named on the bench for Newcastle’s EFL Cup final win against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium on 16 March.
Michal Rosiak (Arsenal): A versatile presence in midfield, Rosiak helped maintain Arsenal’s momentum with two goals in March - one in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace and another in a 3-0 victory over Norwich.
Emre Tezgel (Stoke City): Tezgel netted five goals in a productive month, including a penalty against Aston Villa and an incredible four-goal haul against Derby County, where he added a goal in the first half with a scintillating second-half hat-trick.
Jaden Williams (Tottenham Hotspur): Williams hit a hat-trick in Spurs’ 4-0 win against Blackburn. He found the bottom corner before the break, turned home from close range shortly after the hour, and sealed his treble with a strike late on.
