1996: Newcastle United 0-1 Manchester United

An Eric Cantona goal for Manchester United ended Newcastle United’s 100 per cent home record in the Premier League top-of-the-table clash.

Newcastle’s seemingly unassailable 12-point lead in February had gradually been whittled down to four by the time Manchester United came to play Newcastle.

A win for Newcastle could have re-established a large gap between the two. But, Cantona's strike, six minutes into the second half, brought Manchester United to within one point of Kevin Keegan's leaders.
