Newcastle United are still looking for their first win of the season after they lost 1-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Brighton scored the decisive goal on 29 minutes when Jose Izquierdo's strike deflected in off Beram Kayal.
Jonjo Shelvey went closest to scoring an equaliser for Newcastle but his curling free-kick was saved by Mat Ryan.
The Magpies are bottom with two points from their opening nine matches, while Brighton, who had Glenn Murray carried off on a stretcher, are now in 12th on 11 points.
