Saido Berahino and Mame Biram Diouf both scored hat-tricks as Stoke City ended Sunderland's perfect start to their Premier League Cup campaign with a 6-2 win at Clayton Wood.
Berahino scored twice within the opening 20 minutes before Sunderland pulled a goal back through Lee Connolly.
Stoke responded instantly through Diouf's acrobatic effort and took control when Benji Kimpioka struck early in the second half for the visitors.
Berahino completed his hat-trick to make it 4-2 and Diouf (pictured) followed suit with a second-half brace.
The win takes the Potters up to second in Group A with seven points, two behind Sunderland.
Stoke, for whom a runners-up spot will seal a knockout spot, are four points clear of Peterborough United with two matches left.
