A wonder goal by Bernardo Silva helped Manchester City to a fourth successive win as they beat Aston Villa 2-1.
City dominated the first half and went ahead on 27 minutes through Ruben Dias, who drove a first-time shot from Raheem Sterling's cross into the bottom corner.
Bernardo doubled the visitors’ lead two minutes before half-time with a brilliant first-time volley on the run from Gabriel Jesus's centre.
Villa pulled one back two minutes after the break when Ollie Watkins volleyed in from a Douglas Luiz corner.
The hosts had chances to level. Tyrone Mings flashed a header over from another Luiz corner before Ederson was alert to thwart substitute Carney Chukwuemeka.
City stay second with 32 points while Villa's first defeat under Steven Gerrard leaves them in 13th on 16 points.
